During their press tour for their upcoming stoner buddy comedy The Wrong Girls, Kristen Stewart and Alia Shawkat stopped by Bravo studios for Watch What Happens Live. During the interview, Andy Cohen asks a question from a fan about Kristen saying she would reboot Twilight, and Kristen says she was mostly joking but would consider doing a continuation vs. a re-hashing of the source material. Alia Shawkat jumps in and jokes, “Bella would come back and be like ‘I’m gay,” which makes Kristen Stewart double over with laughter. Alia goes on to joke it would be “hot, modern, fresh” and they encourage Kristen’s wife Dylan Meyer to write it, and she jokes that she already has while standing in the bartender spot on the set.

Kristen Stewart goes on to joke that Bella would say, “I’m gonna fuck your whole family” and then realizes she’s never actually said that phrase before but, “God, it feels good.”

And this, friends, is why queer people should be in charge of everything.

It’s no surprise they wanted to recruit Dylan Meyer for this imaginary project, because she wrote The Wrong Girls; it’s her directorial debut, and Kristen Stewart has said she loved working with her wife. The feeling was mutual, with Dylan having only good things to say about working with Kristen. Alia Shawkat even joined in the lovefest, saying Dylan “was such a great leader, so calm and grounded and appreciative of everybody’s time and clear about what she wanted”

All in all, this trio seems like they’re on fire, so why NOT get them to reboot the Twilight series, but gayer this time. They can play vampire kickball instead of baseball this time, and it will be wonderful.
