Little did JoJo and Katie know that some amount of time thereafter, they would find their date interrupted by a physical collision from Phoenix Suns player Jae Crowder, who crashed into the duo while pursuing a basketball threatening to land in the vast unknown, aka “out of bounds.”
In instagram stories shot at the game, we see JoJo living her stated dream of eating a hot dog courtside at a Lakers game and recapping the collision, during which time her life flashed before her eyes. She ponders at length the possibility of breaking her neck.
Fortunately, both girls survived with necks intact for another day. But the basketball dance was not their first dance! Last week, Katie posted a video on her TikTok of the twosome dancing to “You’re a Jerk” shortly after they’d been spotted holding hands in sunny Hollywood, California.

Katie is 19 and was raised Mormon in St. George, Utah, and currently plays soccer at Snow College in Utah. JoJo and Katie met through social media around two weeks ago, allegedly.

I want to wish JoJo all the happiness in moving on from her breakup and finding career success in DWTS, hosting Ellen and her upcoming tour. But I cannot support her associating with a Trump fan who is linked to racist and transphobic content and made racially insensitive content herself. I’ve been skeptical about the ridiculously high amount of Jojo Siwa content since she came out (because I’m in my 30s and she’s so young). This post is in poor taste given this girl’s politics. I think it’s a major downfall of “identity politics” writ large to spotlight people based on a single identity alone. It reminds me of how AS used to mention Kristen Sinema. If Jojo Siwa is dating a Trump supporter, I don’t think you all should be writing 500 words on that relationship.
This is a very good point about the risks of spotlighting people based on their identities regardless of their politics.
there seems to be an assumption that AS staff/eds knew about the political affiliations prior to posting. maybe instead of an accusation, a question could be asked – like ‘is AS aware of/ok with x?’ and could also provide help with receipts for staff to check?
it’s clear that JoJo Siwa is popular and channels traffic which helps revenue which helps AS exist, which we all want. it’s easy enough to imagine that this isn’t sth staff knew about prior to posting the piece. maybe there’s more to the story we don’t know about. maybe life is a bit tough right now and we are all struggling to keep up.

I think this person might be a troll? Since it’s not a question of the girl’s political party and more of her idolization of a man who took that party and created an unparalleled (in modern times) platform for hate and homophobia. It’s not about a difference of opinion in this case.
Sorry to say but theres no difference between a someone who idolizes trump and someone who votes republican. There are no “good republicans”.
