    • Well, I’m super impressed by Stacey’s bird discernment skills but disappointed she won’t take a risk on the raptor!

  1. Okay, this is phenomenal, top-grade journalism!! (I have never watched the show but FWIW, I get the pretty little liars one!)

  2. “Congratulations, your TV lesbian death trope is Tara Maclay! You are universally loved and grieved, and really set the standard when it came to nonsensical deaths. Don’t stand so close to that window next time!”

so the whole of queer fandom will use me as a measuring stick and remember me forever?

  3. “Congratulations, your TV lesbian death trope is Dani Clayton! You tried to outrun the call of your inevitable watery grave but succumbed in the end before you hurt the love of your life. Yes, I’m still crying about it.”

    Same Sally, same.

    • Perhaps we should pond-er this poetically. Are you going to be on the surface with your long lochs waving in the water, or will you mere-ly sink the bottom?

    • Once I knew this was an option, I went back and picked the ones that would be Dani and I was right!

  4. I thought the picking of trousers would be my hardest question, but then the last pair looked like lederhosen and I was sold immediately.

    • I am glad that your trouser needs were catered to! It definitely makes up for how screwed up my google ads are now from all the pant searching.

  5. “Congratulations, your TV lesbian death trope is Maya St Germain! Like all Rosewood deaths, yours was a convoluted nightmare. But the biggest mystery is how your demise wasn’t a red flag for all the subsequent girlfriends of Emily Fields, who also ended up dying!”

This is the kind of low stakes online quiz that I didn’t know I needed. I usually get anxious answering these (I mean, IDK, sometimes I feel happy and sad at the same time, how can I choose just one answer?) But not this one.

Plus, since I’ve never watched most of these shows, I don’t feel strongly about who I got.

  6. I got Dani Clayton… I never thought of it that way, but it makes so much sense!
Thank you for this deep insight.

  7. Thank you specifically for the question about which shade of grey a straight person would paint their living room. I cackled.

    • They can take all the grey, we’ll keep all the colour, the world will be nicely balanced.

    • I saw those ripped tights in the pants option and was like NOPE MUST AVOID SCHECHTERIZATION AT ALL COSTS!

But let’s face it, she comes for us all in time

    • Congratulations, your TV lesbian death trope is Kate McKenzie! It’s ok, your unborn baby lived and the whole experience will surely develop the character of your surviving white wife, who you married literally moments ago.

Ha ha ha! I’ll take it. I watched 1 season of Last Tango so I at least know who she is.

  8. Damn. Not even vampires are safe from lez/bi tv death?! That’s fucked up. Two vampire shows. Two dead gay Taras.

  9. This was a phenomenal quiz. I got Tara Maclay, which I feel is fitting since BtVS is possibly my favorite TV show ever. Well done!

  10. I love this entire quiz! My result was Tara from Buffy, which is appropriate since that was the first lesbian TV death I experienced (back in college when I thought I was straight). I was absolutely devastated me for reasons I couldn’t explain at the time, even to myself.

  11. I’m Tara and that feels very accurate. I also wanted to pick a 90s skirt like Tara often wore for the pants question, but settled for the nice glam red flared ones. And I’m so sad for Tara that I want to do a Buffy re-watch (again).

  12. “Congratulations, your TV lesbian death trope is Tara Thornton! Not content with dying once, you were turned into a vampire and died again! That’s great going.”

So proud of this result. Never do things by halves <3

(and it's the wrong Tara show but couldn't resist humming "hey, I've died twice…"

  13. Tara from True Blood, a show I never watched because 1st I’m scared of vampires, 2nd I was in the aftermath of a separation/divorce and where I moved to didn’t have cable. Nonetheless, I think I like the character :).

  14. “Congratulations, your TV lesbian death trope is The Many Deaths of Lucy Lawless! You just can’t stop playing gay, and have a 95% chance of death when you do so. Your deaths span history: beheaded in ancient Greece, jumping off a cliff in Rome, killed by an obelisk as an agent of S.H.I.E.L.D in the present day, then condemned to die repeatedly as a cylon in the far future! You are the pinnacle of lesbian and bisexual TV death tropes – well done!”

I’m just glad to be the pinnacle of something. Being at all associated with Lucy Lawless is a win in my boat.

Also I read “Basket of Bobbins” as “Basket of Robbins” and was very disappointed that it wasn’t a clever Baskin Robbins joke.

  15. Love it! :)

  16. I got Kate from Last Tango in Halifax =(

Congratulations, your TV lesbian death trope is Kate McKenzie! It’s ok, your unborn baby lived and the whole experience will surely develop the character of your surviving white wife, who you married literally moments ago.
