Perler beads are the easiest way to make pixellated art all over the place. The aesthetic of tiny, not particularly detailed patterns look almost exactly like the early days of Super Mario Bros. or The Legend of Zelda.
With some plastic beads, a plastic pegboard, some parchment or wax paper and an iron, you can relive your childhood or create replacement memories with which to erase it.

Sidenote, this just helped me finally figure out my couple costume for halloween! Daria and Jane, HELLO!
We’re doing Daria and Trent. I wish I had thought of Daria and Jane though. That would’ve made a lot of fanfic writers really happy.

Pretty sure my family’s iron got used more for perler beads than for laundry in the ’90s.
I could be wrong, but I don’t think I’ve ever done perler beads… How did I manage to get through 26 years without? The TMNT one seems to be calling my name.
