You Raised $2K for Women for Political Change at Rise Up Get Down — A+ Members Can Watch the Replay!

On Sunday June 28, the anniversary of the start of the Stonewall Riots, we threw a little digital shindig to celebrate Pride as an uprising and to raise money for Women for Political Change in Minneapolis. We’re giving A+ Members access even if they couldn’t make the live show because they’re the best, so if you sign up now, you just have to await the weekly A+ E-News for details!

Rise Up Get Down brought you porch-sitting vibes and the best kind of house-show-with-friends mood. With readings from high school diaries and comedic anecdotes from El Sanchez that will make you cringe (for other people, not for them!), gynecologist girlfriend flexes and hyper-organized Capricorn quarantine humor from Jes Tom, lyrical prose and magical poetry from The Stars and The Blackness Between Them by Junauda Petrus-Nasah (who also wrote a piece for Autostraddle’s erotica series SLICK), an earnest, touching, gorgeously-voiced musical performance from Be Steadwell and professional improv levels of MC excellence (plus outfit changes!) from Autostraddle Writer Shelli Nicole (who was just featured in this month’s A+ Insider!) the night was devilishly fun, and you can still tune in by signing up for A+! (AND YOU CAN STILL DONATE TO WFPC THROUGH THE WEEKEND UNTIL 7/6 WHEN YOU WATCH IT! Just click the donate button on your replay screen to open the donation box.) We’re at about $2,000 for WFPC after fees, and we would love to be able to give more from Autostraddle to direct relief  in Minneapolis!

How do members get access? A+ Members receive a weekly newsletter with a roundup of the week’s A+ content and other luscious things! And if you’re a member reading this, yes, you will receive the link and password to catch up on the show in your e-news this week! Thanks for being part of the queer culture club contributing behind the scenes to make Autostraddle go.

Want something to get a taste in the meantime? I have some CLIPS for you! (Note: These are named for moments, not titles of pieces, including book or song titles. Apologies!)
