I got Harriet the Spy which I’ve never heard of, she looks cool though. I couldn’t click on Beloved as my book choice FYI, and while I’m being pernickety – are the His Dark Materials books not YA rather than adult?
oh it’s ok to be persnickety! i always thought of them as adult books but you’re right it does seem to be often categorized otherwise! (gonna look into that and the beloved problem!)
Believe it or not, the original His Dark Materials trilogy is shelved in the Children’s section at most libraries… the more recent sequels are YA, though.
well i have learned something on this day
I got “Harriet the Spy”, too, a classic and so true this is my gay root! One of my most beloved books ever! The authors name is Louise Fitzhugh btw.;-)…
Louise Fitzhugh was a lesbian, an all-around awesome person, and died way, way too young.
I got the “Circle of Magic” series, which is almost eerily spot-on–those books pretty much saved my life as a kid! Glad the characters and I got to grow up and become even queerer :)
Circle of Magic, which is accurate because tomboy heroine is my actual gender.
The Baby-Sitters Club series, which is so on point.
Frog and Toad for the win!
I got harriet the spy…which I loved as a kid. More so the movie than book. My young heart loved Rosie in that movie. Deep gay roots all around.
Frog and Toad!! it’s so true
It’s like this quiz climbed into my head and KNEW. I was obsessed with Circle of Magic as a kid. Several of my friends and I decided which character we were, and this quiz even showed the cover of my character. T_T I feel seen.
that’s what we’re here for!!
