The first trailer for The L Word: Generation Q is here and it’s everything you have been hoping for: Bette seducing you with that smile in a suit, Shane seducing the first women she sees, and Alice… hosting her own talkshow? Okay! Plus the new cast, all of whom seem — well, I don’t know them, but that dyke on her bike at the end (Sarah Finley?) yelling at a man is my eternal mood, so! Let’s fucking do this!

  1. YES!! I do believe that’s Jacqueline Toboni on the bike there at the end, in her “that’s a shame” blonde hair for this show. She was FANTASTIC on Easy (Netflix) and really ushered in a new era of gay for me with her character and voice and jawline. It was a show where each episode checked in on a different couple of characters, so if you only want to watch the good les content you can totally do that by only watching episodes 1.2, 2.7, and 3.3.

  2. Ok so i watched this with no sound, at work, very small, but at one point it looked like Gillian Anderson’s tiny blonde head was dashing away from someone’s house after sleeping over, and I’m sure that isn’t actually true, but it gave me a thrill nonetheless

    Total aside- I went to my first Dodger’s game this week and they played like 5 different Lizzo songs. I didn’t realize she had such mainstream appeal but I’m a fully here for it!

  5. I know I am setting myself up to be disappointed and potentially offended in how they treat the trans characters, again; but, I am a bit excited for this. Fuck!

    • I know this is only a teaser, but it hasn’t really convinced me they are gonna treat trans characters and issues better this time around.
      Leo Sheng is the only one we saw a good amount of and who also was in the ‘Meet the new Generation’ reel. Sophies shoes where seen in that reel too I think, but otherwise her and Brian Michael Smith were only seen in shots with Angie and Bette respectively with them being more of a backdrop.
      Jamie Clayton’s character wasn’t seen at all, which maybe because shes only recurring,but its still disappointing.
      And lastly, but certainly not least, I am still a bit miffed that we wont get a Transwoman played by a poc, it wouldn’t have heard them to have 2,5 transwomen (if Claytons non-appearance is indicative of her screentime in the show) on the show and any screentime they need can gladly be substracted from Alice (and even Shane) for all I care.

  8. Ahh!! As someone who (I’m sorry) actually loved Tina (as well as problematic fave, Helena) it’s bittersweet to see the storyline move on without them, but I’m so glad the show is back! Am perhaps even more so excited to read all of the coverage of it here lol.

    Bette Porter for president is a concept for the show that I can get behind of.
    Also, Private Jet? Shane really must be a wizard with the scissors. I doubt my hairdresser even owns a car.

  13. I’m here for Bette Porter with a black woman. I’ve always been curious about seeing the politics of that onscreen. I’m darker skinned and I’ve dated passing women before and it can be very tricky. I still need Bette to be Bette though…cursing and all.

    I don’t expect the show to be anything more than a lot of frivolity…kind of like cotton candy. You know you shouldn’t eat it but you do because you can and it’s there and it’s fun to look at.

    That said…how hot is JB? Also love Jacqueline Toboni but I’m not sold the blonde.

    • I don’t want to be rude Sarah, but I kind of think you should have gone with the spell casting witch, she seems to bring a lot more to the table than your husband, he’s just bouncing around from gal to gal like a beach ball! Doesn’t really feel like a full partner, you know? Something to think about next time!
