Emma Rust is a mixed race, Asian American comic artist, organizer, and advocate based in Portland OR. Through comics and illustration, they tell stories that unpack their personal exploration of identity, community, trauma and healing, movement work, and radical futures. Rust’s focus on capturing the vulnerability of the human experience within a social justice lens invites the reader to recognize their positionality in society while also discovering their areas of growth, places of resonance, and spot in the greater movement to liberate ourselves from violent systems.

I love this! We’re fortunate to be able to hang out and work in our yard. And there are some hiking trails that are still open. I took my little ones on an adventure yesterday and we found tadpoles. So many things of beauty outside!

This perfectly illustrates my feelings. (Although where I am, we are alowed to go outside, it is discouraged.)
My balcony is great, but it’s just a concrete balcony in a concrete neighbourhood.
Thankfully I can see the trees just beyond the city limits from my windows.
