More Funny Things Prospective Landlords have said:
– di you like music?….I don’t like noise.
– no boyfriend, right? No overnight guests!
– there was mold in the walls, but we took care of it…
– don’t worry about the leak; it only leaks when it’s a heavy rain
– the last guy was filthy… He brewed beer here and used it as a workshop. Don’t worry, I’m making him clean before he leaves. and! I’ll redo the carpets.
– there was a rat problem before, but only because the previous tenant was filthy. You won’t have a problem.
Too real!
Always looking forward to your strips, Megan!
This is 200% accurate with regards to apartment hunting in LA
I feel really fortunate that last panel doesn’t seem to occur so much where I live. I’ve heard about it happening in many other places.
I am having PTSD–This should have come with a trigger warning 0.0
Guh, me and mine are in the middle of apartment hunting right now, in San Diego. Probably not quite as bad as LA, but OH MY GAW. What a nightmare!
Accurate for the Bay Area as well! I guess the one upside is it’s pretty damn easy to break a lease because they can literally fill your spot with someone willing to pay twice as much tomorrow…
Not looking forwards to rhis aspect of Adulting after uni! Great as usual
Why are you drawing my life, stop drawing my life :(
Ha! Reminds me of the time my friend and I decided to be roommates and found a great ad for a 2 bedroom in Highland Park – now this was before it become the gentrified, hipster town it is now. Turns out the “second bedroom” was just a converted garage. And to access the bathroom, I had to enter my friends room because that was the only way in.
I hate flat hunting, looking at the moment for a new place to rent in south London, basically impossible as I need an accessible flat (or at least one I can get to the front door in my wheelchair).
