According to sources at the esteemed Magazine of the People, Hollywood legend Tatum O’Neal and Rockford Peaches third baseman Rosie O’Donnell could be canoodling.

Although O’Donnell’s rep Cindi Berger issued a brisk denial, insisting that the two are merely good friends, the anonymous source who spoke to People insists that O’Neal and O’Donnell are clearly more than that. “They’re confidantes,” the source explains, and anyone who’s ever heard the Golden Girls theme knows what that means. “They are hanging out. They have seen each other on both coasts, in Nyack and in Los Angeles… They are romatically involved. It’s a bicoastal relationship.” As we all know, when two women are friends on both coasts, things are pretty serious.

People Magazine is generally unlikely to publish unsubstantiated gossip, and their reporter helpfully points out multiple instances of O’Donnell retweeting or promoting O’Neal (the true signs of a committed confidante). As we learned just a few months ago, Tatum O’Neal is pretty much just dating women now. O’Donnell divorced her second wife Michelle Rounds just six months ago. Both women have weathered long, tumultuous relationships with Hollywood, and have had their difficulties with romantic relationships and their children heavily dissected by the press. According to O’Donnell’s rep’s denial, the two met in Chicago a couple of years ago when both were working on projects for the OWN network, so essentially they were set up by Oprah. We’re not saying this thing is definitely happening, but we’re saying it could be happening.

Both Tatum and Rosie attended the premiere of Broadway musical Hamilton last month, and Page Six later reported O’Donnell looking “happy and relaxed” at dinner with O’Neal at Da Silvano. Sounds like something friends would do… or does it?!?!?!? These reports do confirm the anonymous source’s statement that O’Neal and O’Donnell are “hanging out.”

It bears mentioning that in the tradition of Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi, these two ladies would have quite a time combining their last names. We can only imagine the possibilities!
