This is more of a relaxed song for when everyones hungover, but it’s the summeriest (is that a word) song I know, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IUpPzVLBEbg&ob=av3e It’s called Mango Tree and it’s by Angus and Julia Stone, give it a listen! Also, here’s some great lively ones that will remind me of this summer, Young Blood-The Naked and Famous- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WdO85Qf4Poc and of course Jonsi, put this one and turn it up super loud, it’s savage! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T6HjT4SQKJI&ob=av2n it’s called Go do by the way, and maybe it’s not a party song but it is super happy! :-D

  7. unfortunately “let’s go surfing” was the theme song on the early summer playlist at work and now i can never listen to it again.

    • I feel your pain, luckily you have lots of great suggestions from everyone for a substitution!

    • You know, I totally and seriously looked at the Beach Boys, but I only had one album and I wasn’t too familiar with it. I ultimately decided to leave it to the Beach Boys enthusiasts to add as they saw fit. :)

      • Well Pet Sounds is their best album and everyone should own it, but that one’s not really ideal for a pool party.

        The cliche ones like Surfin’ Safari and Surfin’ USA are good picks of course, but personally I feel like the best ones for this are Catch a Wave, All Summer Long, Fun Fun Fun, Little Honda, California Girls, I Get Around and of course Barbara Ann is the best one for an impromptu singalong.

  11. I have been in love with that Hood Internet Beastie Boys vs. Matt and Kim song for a long time.

    Also, my summer/pool songs (that haven’t been mentioned already, because I am seconding or thirding the Best Coast love) have been “East Harlem” by Beirut, “Barbra Ann” by the Beach Boys, “Summer House” by Gold Motel, “Put it in a Love Song” by Alicia Keys and Beyonce, “Pon de floor” by Major Lazer, and the “Hot in Herre” cover that Jenny Owen Youngs does.
