Daily Fix: The GLAAD Network Responsibility Index Makes Us Do Math to Uncover its Most Shocking Statistic (Lezwhat?)
Methodology: For GLAAD’s third annual report, we divided our analysis of reports into two sections (network & cable) and found neither section provided statistics that specifically addressed lesbian, gay and transgender characters as independent groups, therefore requiring us to read every word to get some info about the ladies. We suspect this decision was made because lumping gays, lesbians, transpeople and bisexuals together makes it less depressing.

Sweet Sweet Charlene of Logo’s “Gimme Sugar”: The Autostraddle Interview
“You have to break the shell, be okay with who you are regardless of the cameras and know that there’s someone out there who’s gonna relate to you. There’s Something About Jenny[s] – Why Killing Jenny is Killing All of Us
Jenny stayed controversial ’cause her behavior didn’t demand universal like or dislike, and the dislike it prompted was real. Bette & Tina’s relationship does that too — there’s been interesting cases on both sides throughout the show’s run, often influenced by how much you personally relate and your feelings on monogamy, CORE values, etc.. Like Jenny, we consider Bette & Tina with nuance and personal subjectivity.

The L Word Episode 606 Recap: Lactose Intolerant
Episode 606 of The L Word, titled “Lactose Intolerant,” is the worst thing I’ve seen on television since Episode 604 of The L Word. Howevs; whereas 604 was calmly terrible — bumbling softly along its housework-heavy path of mediocrity — 606 was outrageously, actively, aggressively terrible.
