A progressive Chicago-area synagogue, which serves gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender Jews, learned that a mail bomb involved in a foiled Al-Qaeda plot was addressed to its building. Although the bomb was never intended to reach the synagogue, we still have questions. Was this meant to be a general message of hatred for a religion, one specifically targeted to the LGBTQ folks and their allies, or just a general “fuck you” to all of humanity?
