The image of Tel Aviv as a liberal gay haven was shattered last year when a gunman injured 15 and killed two youths at an LGBT community center a few months before I was headed there for a study abroad program. On the one-year anniversary of the shooting, LGBTQ Israelis are marching from Jerusalem to Knesset in The March for Equality. Although I was not there today, I also have feelings on this.
While Inception isn’t Christopher Nolan’s best film, it’s a taut psychological thriller that’s really only bogged down by its ambition to be all things to all summer moviegoers.
Time to check back in with Final Fantasy XIII (and model through it), after a hiatus of epic proportion. I’m at about hour 10 and Lightning’s still sassy, but I did spot an alt-lifestyle haircut. Onward and upward! Or downward. I think Pulse is down.
Are you a gay or lesbian parent who needs defend the legitimacy of your family to an individual or legal body today? There’s an app I mean a series of studies and scientific research for that.

It’s Take Your Family to the Episode Day! I mean, it’s an episode about real lesbians. Or something. A recap of something that happened. I wish Slim Daddy had been in it though.
This week in style, Lily exposes her borderline psychotic obsession/romantic relationship with shoes and shares some of her favorites with the world.

More homophobic white noise came out of Elisabeth Hasselbeck’s face on The View today. Why is she still on my teevee?
Target recently donated $150,000 to a group that supports anti-gay Republican Tom Emmer. Vote with your dollars, sign change.org’s petition, or both!
More zany stuff went down at San Diego Comic-Con 2010 than you can shake a stick at, but we’ll try to shake a stick anyway. Check out the new Scott Pilgrim movie, a queer comics panel, a Whedonite tidbit and (most importantly) our own Brandy Howard in an inexplicable chicken superhero costume!
GLAAD’s network responsibility index shows per ushe that there aren’t enough lesbians on TV. But something else surprising happened this year — the teenagers kicked our butts! Who was the first young queer you remember seeing on teevee?
The first meeting of the Audiostraddle Record Club starts now! Today’s topic: “The ArchAndroid” by Janelle Monáe.
I really don’t know how to describe what I’ve done here.
Over the weekend, Dan Choi (recently discharged under Don’t Ask Don’t Tell) approached Senator Harry Reid with a letter reminding him of his obligations to gay and lesbian American soldiers and delivering him his West Point ring to drive home the point. We have video coverage of their encounter and GetEqual’s protest, as well as the full text of Choi’s letter.
