I’ve always been a very nostalgic person. I carry my memories through my food and things like ceramics and silverware that I collect around the world. It helps me place time. Everything has a story — This Mexican blanket that I use for picnics, I picked up during my journey to the finals on my first season of @bravotopchef (12) in San Miguel De Allende. The feta topped with toasted whole cumin, coriander seeds, chili flakes, EVOO, sesame seeds reminds me of an impromptu day outing to Sonoma only to stumble into a new favorite winery serving this with a side of olives. The tiny gold fork was a gem I found along the way while working on a project and living in Tokyo for half the year (I like tiny silverware). This homemade sourdough is made from my starter Lucey that I created years ago during my time in Michelin kitchens and is still going strong. The jalapeño orange-strawberry margarita is a variation of a cocktail I made on stage with drag queen @alyssaedwards_1 at @outsidelands last year, the one I made her was much more exciting and rimmed with strawberry pop rocks. This photo holds so many places in time where adventure, good people, and happiness came together. 🤍
