I Still Love That Heterosexual Show “GLOW”!

Season two of of GLOW features an honest-to-goodness lesbian character, which Riese and Heather will be writing about this week. In the meantime, please enjoy a little bit of that and the rest of the show’s heterosexuality. Feel free to refresh with some season one heterosexual highlights!

Probably spoilers ahead!

I know I should be happy re: all the lesbi content already gifted to us from this show but can someone explain to me WHY I am so frustrated with Bash’s character? This bitch was CONVINCED he was having a full-on bi-piphany in the club, but actually he’s super homophobic? I suppose both things can be true but ugh. I’m also still processing the treatment of AIDS in the show…turns out this 90s baby has been ignorant of the reality.

    • Postscript: The song that played in the gay bar is my gender and I’m screaming it from the rooftops holy hell.

    • I don’t think Bash is homophobic. IMHO, he is a deeply in denial lonely and repressed gay man. He has not shown any interest in women in either season of Glow. Both Pose and Glow have done a good job of showing the reality of AIDS in the 80’s and early 90’s.

      • i agree, our baby bash is trapped in himself. and the aids issue has been brought up in such small ways but is SO well done

        • Aw I suppose I took his interest in Rhonda as reality and not in repressed reaction to his own homosexuality. Either way I feel for him SO hard :'(

        • I completely burst into tears when the rep from the hospital said it would be hard to find a funeral home to take Florian’s body. The idea of all that suffering compounded with such cruelty punched me right in the gut.

  2. I really enjoyed the slighty gay parts in this season, but my favorite moment was absolutely Bash giving Debbie the run down of Muppets Take Manhattan! I mean BOFFO! SOCKO! it was GOOD!

    • I’m still not sure I’ve ever loved a movie the way I loved “Muppets Take Manhattan.”

  3. I know it was meant to be ‘boring’ and very local television, but i would watch that sewing programme for hours.

  4. i watched season two entirely obviously on friday and then after reading this had to watch it all over again just because i missed that dancing scene
