GIVEAWAY: Win Tickets To Mary Lambert’s Intimate Valentine’s Day Show In New York

Hello, black-collared lovebirds!  I heard Valentine’s Day is a thing that’s coming up soon!  If your reservations for a romantic dinner for two at White Castle didn’t pan out this year, Autostraddle is pleased to offer an alternative – we are giving away two tickets to Mary Lambert’s special, super-intimate Valentine’s Day show at SubCulture (10 PM, downstairs) in New York City.  No matter what your romantic situation, seeing Mary Lambert for free sounds like a pretty ideal way to spend one’s Friday night.

To enter, all you have to do is be an adult who is able to be in New York City on Friday, Feb 14.  Once you’ve established that very important information, go ahead and comment on this post!  That’s it – that’s all you have to do!  Write us a sonnet or a haiku if you feel like it, or tell us why you love Mary Lambert, or just post some cute animal pictures – just as long as you’re certain that your shining face can in fact be in attendance on February 14!  We will select a winner at random at 8:00 PM EST on Sunday, February 9th.  Easy, right?

The winner can collect their free pair of tickets at the box office at SubCulture (45 Bleecker St).  If you want to make absolutely sure you score a ticket, there are still some available for sale.  We love Mary Lambert and we love you, so please don’t miss out!

  55. Hello. I know a lot of people want these tickets, and that a lot of people are worthy of them…perhaps even worthier than me. But I also want these tickets. My life needed something worth living for, especially in the throws of a major jaw surgery at 23, and I found it in my girlfriend. She has this light about her that I can’t even begin to describe. I could never give her anything to let her know just how much I appreciate her. But this could be something. I hope whoever gets the tickets has an amazing time, because life is too fucking short to be sad on such an absurdly, Hallmark created holiday. If you have no one, at least love yourself. You deserve it.

  58. As a broke college student, I put off buying tickets to Mary’s show until the very last minute… and then realized it sold out. My best friend begged me to buy a ticket to her show as he is absolutely in love with her. Now I’m in the position of leaving him hanging on Valentine’s day because of my own mistakes of not getting them sooner. Being a part of the LGBT community, Mary helped him come out and our obsession with her is stronger than any other artist. He has been there for me through thick and thin, and this is my one chance to be able to be there for him. I know that a lot of these other commenters totally deserve the tickets, definitely more than me. But the tickets aren’t for me, they are for him. I’m not a creative person and can’t write a haiku or anything creative (though I did try inserting a picture and it wouldn’t load). Sooo autostraddle… while I may not be in a romantic relationship with my best friend, I think relationships like ours are the strongest relationships out there. Through thick and thin I can rely on him, and he can rely on me. Valentine’s day isn’t just for showing our boyfriends and girlfriends that we care, but it’s showing those people who are there for us no matter what, that we love and adore them. For my Valentine’s day I would love to show that I support my best friend and would do anything for him (like entering this contest). It would mean so much to me if we could attend this concert together because I owe him for being such an amazing part of my life. I don’t want him to attend this concert alone, because that’s not what Valentine’s day is for. Please consider me!!!!
