About Me
About Me | I read almost anything I can get my hands on. I have a cat named Toaster. He will eventually get a friend named Waffle. For now, he has beta fish friend-in-a-bowl named poptart. I dig video games and tend to beat my guy friends despite their sobriety. I flip-flop between donning dresses and heels with a twist and figuring out how to wear pants (Seriously. Haven’t owned pants in 3 years and I may be stupidly excited to own a pair of these “skinny jean” things). When I’m not reading a book that I’m engrossed in, I’m probably thinking about food or sex. I love food. I love sexy times. I love cooking and how cooking can lead to sexy times. I had a huge background in physics and biochemistry until I decided to throw myself into philosophy, art, sociology, queer studies/feminism, and literature (but I haven’t abandoned the sciences.. I like this whole “interdisciplinary” thing to life). I like frolicking outside (hiking, camping) and enjoy rock climbing and skinny dipping. My preferred method of greeting someone I know is with a squeal and a tackle-hug. I twirl when I’m excited. I make a mean gin and tonic. I have ink! After my second – and largest – tattoo, I swore I was done… 4 months later I’m plotting my third. OH! And I sell sex toys. -grin- -cough- All that said, I’ve just recently and accidentally came out to my family as not being the heteronormative daughter they expected me to be (they handled it worse than when I told them I wasn’t going to medical school anymore)… aaaand I’ve also had to move back in with them recently after Grad School (hooray!). SO! I’m feeling slightly isolated from any other member of the LGBTQ community and am hoping to make some connections and find a community here before I throw myself on a long train ride to go explore Chicago neighborhoods all by my lonesome. :) |
