My partner and I are in an extremely long-distance relationship, one that spans the largest ocean and requires a lengthy and expensive flight to see each other. Long distance is a bummer, but we like each other a whole lot so we make do with the situation, which means we end up having a lot of video sex.
My partner is also really into butt stuff.
When I found out there was a vibrating butt plug which I could control from across the world while we had our video sessions, I was really excited to give it a try. We received the Ditto while my partner was visiting me in person, so also both got to try it out together.
The Unboxing
The plug itself is coated in really velvety silicone that feels nice and soft. The plug is completely waterproof and rechargeable. It’s also fairly medium sized — I don’t think I’d recommend this for your first foray into butt stuff, as it might be a little large for your first time. For anyone who is a little experienced in butt stuff, this may seem like a very regular or even small size for you.
Quarter for scale
The plug has a small button on the base which turns it on and off, and also cycles up the intensity scale and then through 10 different preset vibration types. To turn it off, just press and hold the button. Unfortunately, there’s no travel lock, so there’s nothing to prevent it from accidentally turning on in your checked bag while traveling. There’s also a tiny plastic battery powered remote control that comes with the plug, if you don’t want to use the app or the button on the plug. We paired it, tested it, and then tossed it in the drawer and found no further use for it, since the app was more fun to use.
The vibration feels rumbly and deep and not buzzy, which is a preference by both me and my partner for vibrators. It also felt surprisingly intense on the highest setting, which was a relief— most vibrators don’t really feel like they’re intense enough, and this one met our expectations. I can’t compare to other butt plugs specifically, as it’s the first one either of us have used that has a motor inside. It’s also extremely quiet, which is a huge plus if you have roommates.
The App Setup
We spent a good 30 minutes getting the app installed on both of our phones (their phone is the one paired with the device via Bluetooth, and my phone can connect to their phone via the app over the internet to “take over” control of the device).
To be honest, the app feels buggy and the interface is a bit clunky. It took us a bit of time to figure out exactly how to release control on their phone and allow for my phone to take over, and the app required quite a few restarts to get working.
Once it actually does work though, it’s pretty neat! You can turn the vibration on and off, change the volume of intensity on the app, change it to a few different preset vibrations (although we didn’t like those much — does anyone?). You can also make your own saved personal vibration settings!
There’s a built-in video and chat component, so you can video or text chat with each other while fiddling with the settings without having to switch back and forth between apps.
The In-Person Session
We gave the plug itself a try the first time without the app and my partner really loved the rumbly sensation. We tried a few of the preset vibration types, but neither of us are huge fans of those. If you’re a fan of those type of vibrations there are a lot of great options for you to play with! We did play with the regular vibration intensity levels, and went up from maybe a 3 to an 8. Paired with a Hitachi Magic Wand over the clit it produced an extremely strong and powerful orgasm. Success!
My partner said, “This is the first venture into vibrating anal toys, and boy am I a fan. I particularly like the rumbly vibration of this toy and the overall shape/feel of the silicone. Not a fan of the extra vibration settings, but do like the long distance control aspect. 8/10 would put it in my butt again.”
The base of the plug is pretty large; if your partner has a vagina and you want access to it while the plug is in, try inserting the plug so the longer part of the base points towards the back of the body. The width of the insertable part of the plug might prohibit much penetration in the vagina, since it really does take up a lot of space inside the body.
As with anything in your butt, use lube, and use a lot. Because this toy is made with silicone, use a water-based one.
When leaving at the end of our visit, my partner said, “I’m going to miss you, but at least you can control a thing that goes in my butt.”
The Remote Session
When they got back home to their country we tried it again, this time with me controlling the plug via the app. After some tech issues with the video chat not working and having to unpair and re-pair the app (which is kinda awkward to do with a butt plug in!), we finally got it working.
I found most of the settings in the app to be overkill for my taste. From a tech perspective it’s really neat to be able to save your own creative vibration combo (a little pulse, a bit of wave, some bounciness, repeat), my partner and I were both more interested in constant vibration. The regular vibration setting is great though, and you can control the intensity via the app.
Which brings me to my only real complaint with this plug: I really wish the app was less buggy! It appears that I’m not the only one who has issues with it, as it’s currently only rated two stars in the app store. Hopefully they hire some developers to fix this soon, as the product has a lot of promise. If you run into issues, I recommend restarting the app on both of your phones if it unpairs or flakes out on you. This seemed to fix the issue for us most of the time.

Can I tell you how much more fun it is to have a video chat with your partner when you can control the vibration in their butt at the same time? Like, imagine they say something a little cheeky to you and you knock the dial up to an 8. Or you turn it off, and then back on again a few minutes later without warning. SO much fun!
I love being able to control something remotely; it really makes me feel oddly more connected in our video sex sessions, and is a welcome new toy to the collection. I recommend this toy if you’re in an LDR and like butt stuff, and you have lots of patience debugging technical issues.
