  1. The story about the couple celebrating their 70th anniversary made my heart swell!

  2. 1. OKAY hi let me explain myself. hermione granger did indeed make me gay. my last heterosexual dating experience happened while watching HP4. motherfucker kept trying to hold my hand. this confused me, as i was all like “hey, whoa. what are yout rying here. i just want to let hermione granger cast her magical spell on me ktnx.”

    2. sometimes i feel like i’m the only ‘progressive’ ‘queer’ in all the land who likes labels. i feel like if they apply to you, and you don’t feel limited by them, then they’re okay. i’m a lesbian, and i know this, i don’t mind identifying as such. hi discuss when i’m sober plz.

    3. i stand by my out magazine comment.

    • I LIKE LABELS TOO!!!! I like ’em so much I make up my own, cuz it’s fun. But can someone please explain to me why “lesbian” is so passe?

    • 2. As someone who is kinda/sorta CRAZY OCD, lemme just say that labels keep things ORGANIZED.

Example: If I didn’t label my (masterfully crafted) playlists, I might pause to put on my “Hot Hot Sex” music only to mistakenly start blasting my “So Emo It Hurts” mix, effectively killing both the sexytime mood and my indie cred.

      Conclusion: NO LABELS = AUTOUNSTRADDLED

  3. Thanks for linking to the Maddow/Belarus story. I’m probably the biggest (only?) Rachel fan from Belarus.

    • you should smuggle in copies of the magazine to try to recruit more people. recruit, recruit, recruit!!!

  4. You may laugh about this example of #swineflu, but this is New Zealand Real Gay News at its finest. Seriously.

  5. No need to be torn, Intern X! Liz Cheney isn’t a lesbian, you’re thinking of her younger sister Mary. So now you can worry about the fabric of the universe tearing in one piece.

    • omg, that confused me too, but i was like, this is funny though, maybe i’m confused about lynn v. mary. what’s amazing is how well-informed we all are that no one caught this until just now. better go change it now brb

  6. In defense of Claire McCaskill (she’s the Senator from my state):

She’s definitely not perfect, but she’s the most liberal you’re going to get for a state-elected official in Missouri. If I was old enough to vote in the last election, she would have had my vote (if only b/c the guy she was running against was a “family values” candidate who totally creeped me out http://tinyurl.com/yebeqe ).

Not to mention that Kit Bond (our other Senator) is ten times worse. Missouri sucks.

    • I don’t trust anyone named Kit Bond, that’s like Kit Porter crossed with james bond which i think is like a parody of a foxy brown movie or something, which is hot, but not necessarily good for leadership.

someone once told me i should stop commenting on things after 1 Am but then she turned out to be a big liar so she was probs lying about that too
