A few weeks ago I made the poor (or great?) decision to go to the grocery store after taking an edible, and amongst other hilarious things, I got both the raspberry and strawberry/cream cheese Toaster Strudels, and they were absolutely still amazing. The key is putting the frosting packet under the toaster so it gets warmed up a little bit. Heh. Also after doing some research, there apparently is a Cinnamon Toast Crunch Toaster Strudel?!??!? My local store didn’t have those, which might be good because I’m not sure my elder millennial heart could handle that.

When I was little my dads sister sent me a box of vintage 80s barbies and I can personally vouch that by the time I got through with them at least a quarter of them held a resemblance to Barbie Kate McKinnon. Another portion of them had their limbs broken off. My brother made this hole in his bedroom by punching the wall so many times so I used to drop their plastic limbs and heads in it and have the other non broken dolls walk past and say “beware. That is the pit of doom. You don’t want to wind up in there.

This is such a lovely piece! Last April when my parents and my partner (they’d never been to America) and I all flew over so they could meet my US grandparents, we had a couple days just the four of us in Chicago first with a similar vibe, and I felt we had a similar revelation of seeing how my relationship and approach to relationships was now founded so much on the strength of theirs. I’m so lucky that’s true. This has warmed my heart in an otherwise situationally bad moment (stunningly crowded train). Thank you for breaking your own column rules <3
