Foolish Child #100 🎉

This comic, I realize, sounds almost like a finale or a goodbye. It is not meant to be either of those things, just a little celebratory “hi” and a big thank you to everyone who has spent time venturing to this little corner of the Internet to interact with Foolish Child over the past couple of years.

I don’t often say much just as myself, outside of these drawings, but I want to express my appreciation for all of the support, comments, and love I have received from folks in the Autostraddle community over the past five years. This wonderful place has kept me creative, even when I lacked the energy and the motivation and the headspace to want to be so. This place has kept me going through so many untold stressors in these past five years, not the least of which was having a baby (going on four years old now!) and pushing through the wilds of postpartum.

Throughout the years, I have lost the time and energy to keep up with far too many of my favorite things to do. This community and this comic and all of the friends I have made through being perpetually online (and sometimes offline, A+ Camp!) has not only kept me drawing and writing, it has helped me grow as a creative and a person. And I am eternally grateful to every single person I have met and interacted with along the way.

Against a rainbow background, Dickens waves and says HI! They are excited to celebrate 100 comics, which they are declaring as "the best of times, and the GREATEST of times." In celebration they drew comic versions of their two editors at Autostraddle, Heather and Carmen, and thanked them both for "all their support and encouragement in rooting me on and lifting me up through the years." They end with their hands up and hearts drawn above them, "Love Alana Dickens, Foolish Child"
