Nachos and a beer for dinner. Yes and YES.
Queer as in F*ck You
Sara Ramirez has ended their relationship with their husband Ryan Debolt and this is the classiest message I have ever seen:

WELP! It’s official official. Sha’Carri Richardson Will Miss Olympics After Not Being Chosen for Relays (insert here my anger about anti-Black racism in the Olympics and archaic anti-drug rules, but you already know the deal)
Speaking of sports, this story was wild and I’m grateful Natalie gave me this summary as a heads up, “Imagine making queer women serve punishment for homophobic fans.” Mexico Women Could Serve Part of Chant Penalty
Today’s herstory lesson: Overlooked No More: Eve Adams, Writer Who Gave Lesbians a Voice. “Her 1925 book, ‘Lesbian Love,’ is one of the earliest examples of American lesbian literature. She also ran Eve’s Hangout, a literary haunt in Manhattan.”
Online Radio Station Gives LGBTQ Artists a Platform. “E3 Radio is an online radio station playing queer and independent music in high rotation with an R&B and hip-hop vibe.”

Bigots Have Finally Accomplished Their Goal of Gutting the Voting Rights Act. “The Supreme Court’s decision upholding voter restrictions in Arizona paves the way for widespread disenfranchisement of voters of color.”
Hope all is well with Sara! I actually didn’t even realize she was still with him. They must be very very private, which is understandable.
hey, sara uses they/them pronouns!
Hi Caitlin! Sara uses she/they pronouns (I just checked their Twitter and IG bios to double check). This is reflected in Chenell’s comment, which uses both.
WELP that’s egg on my face then! I’ll be triple-checking everything for the next forever
I bet Natalie is ready to mingle! ;)
(I know Natalie btw)
literally as soon as i saw sara’s insta post i texted my sibling ‘time to shoot my shot’ only to see that they had dm’ed me on twitter the exact same phrase
Listen, I am a fan of people leaving their husbands if they feel it’s the right thing for them. Congrats Sara!
Firstly, thank you Carmen for rounding up these articles!
I won’t lie the one about Eve Adams made me a little misty. The idea that a group of strangers would come together to tell the story–to CARE a about the story–of this person none of them knew and commemorate her life in the best way they could think of really hit in the old feelings.
The article about quitting twitter actually gave me the push to log out. I had deleted both twitter and instagram from my apps a while ago, but I fell back into using the mobile versions over the past six months. At first only to check once a day (as these things usually start) but that quickly slipped into checking them repeatedly multiple times throughout the day, and eventually to not being able to even get out of bed in the morning until I had dutifully scrolled through all the new content I had missed while sleeping.
Something about that article gave the final nudge to physically log out and delete them from my browser history. The article asks the reader to examine “what is it (twitter) stealing from you?” and for me it’s been connecting and communicating with people I care about. For me, those specific social media platforms were merely providing the illusion of keeping up relationships when in fact it was just me reading what other people were posting about their lives and not actually contributing in any way to those friendships, which feels pretty gross when I examine it from the outside!
Also I had zero idea that Sara Ramirez was married in the first place so I don’t know what kind of rock I had my head under all this time, but I’m glad to see they’re moving through it with grace and love.
