Hello! It is a Pop Culture Fix! It is some day of the week, although I am unsure which one!
+ The Seattle Storm won another WNBA championship last night under the leadership of queer superstars Sue Bird and Breanna Stewart, which Britni will unpack fully for you in Friday’s column. In the meantime, a look back at Bird’s 17 years with the Storm. And this:

+ Please don’t DM Roberta Colindrez.
+ Uh, SNL is paying audience members $150 to maybe get COVID?
+ Elizabeth Moss will play former congresswoman Katie Hill in a streaming film adaptation of Hill’s forthcoming memoir, She Will Rise: Becoming a Warrior in the Battle for True Equality. In the 2018 midterms, Hill was the first openly bisexual woman elected to Congress. In 2019, she resigned after admitting to having an inappropriate relationship with a campaign staffer. (Also after the Daily Mail published nude photos of her.) In a very odd turn of events, last night, Hill’s former staff took to her old congressional Twitter account to protest the news of the film.
+ The Hollywood Reporters‘s got a whole entire feature with Meryl Streep, Kerry Washington and Nicole Kidman about Ryan Murphy’s upcoming adaptation of The Prom.
+ Latinx creatives talk inclusivity on TV.
+ Natalie called this “Natalie cat-nip” and I couldn’t agree more. If I were trying to lure her out of hiding, I would definitely just play this trailer.
+ ANYTHING FOR SELENAS! 😭

+ Mark Anthony Neal on how copaganda empowers law enforcement to terrorize with impunity.
+ Read Betty Gilpin’s eulogy for GLOW.
+ Every episode of Gilmore Girls, ranked.
+ What does queer America look like? Lilly Singh and Zoe Kravitz (!) are here to show you.
+ A Lumberjanes animated adaptation is in the works at HBO Max!
+ Cynthia Nixon won’t run against Cuomo again, but she’s not giving up on New York.
+ Paula Pell has joined Tina Fey’s new Peacock project.
+ Chloë Grace Moretz will lead Amazon’s The Peripheral from the Westworld creators.
I wouldn’t describe the number of times I’ve watched that Megan Rapinoe/Sue Bird video as “unhealthy”, because we do indeed love to see it, but I WOULD describe it as “many, many today, probs more tomorrow”
SAME. Their love warms my poor numb heart.
huge fan of jessica chastain, she plays a lot of good strong female leads. also great to see lupita, penelope and diane in good roles . its lovely as well,to see diane gets so many strong female roles, not so many german actresses “make” it in the US. if you get the chance catch fatih akin`s “in the fade”.about a woman who alone, revenge the murder of her husband and son,who are killed in a terrorist attack perpetrated by neo-Nazis. It won the golden globe. fatih akin is an great turkish/germandirector-i also recommend akin`s “head on” about a turkish older men and a young turkish women wo marry to help the girl get her freedom https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Head-On_(film) lets hope the 355 film wont flop as i ve read the remakes of ghostbusters and charlies angels did. im afraid the film industry will as a result no longer invest in women action movies. but oceans 8 with an female cast did good as far as i remmember?
“in the fade” has also diane krüger as a female lead.
Seeing Megan Rapinoe pop up everywhere in the behind-the-scenes footage of the Storm’s win is very heart-warming. I just saw a clip on the Seattle Storm instagram where she was throwing a huge armload of confetti over Sue and other Storm players for a photo op! 😭😍
Also, that timeline of Sue Bird’s career is fantastic. I need one like that, but for her and Megan Rapinoe’s public appearances.
