  2. Glimmer would TOTES drop an F-bomb! Also the person who voices her character, Karen Fukuhara, is also the voice of the main character in Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts, which is a delightful show featuring at least one gaymo (Benson) that Autostraddle needs to follow.

  5. ok someone talk to me about why Glimmer is skinny in s4 because THAT is some fucking bullshit right there

      • I just started watching s4 the other night and haven’t gotten past episode 1 because INEXPLICABLY Glimmer is like, significantly smaller than she has been in the first three seasons. And it feels like a real kick in the teeth to this chubby femme. She-Ra was my glorious queer magical escape and now I feel booted out :( along with Glimmer’s thick thighs

    • Glimmer is not significantly smaller or skinnier than before. And yes I did go check because I didn’t want to overestimate my own impressions. But I did check, and except a few occasions (like some in ep 1 where it does look like they just sliced into her body compared to her size before…) the difference really isn’t that huge other times. She still has her thighs.

      The slight difference is I believe due to clothes, Glimmer first outfit was less tight and covered less skin (so sadly no more chubby knees in sight either), that changes things a bit. And also due to character design, lignes are generally sharper than before, and the drawings a little more squared, which isn’t great for real curves.

      Anyway comparing images of the different seasons, in some shots there’s a difference and it does kind of sucks but in others it really isn’t that significant and is rather unnoticeable.

      • I’m glad to hear that she doesn’t look as small in future episodes, but in ep 1 it’s honestly all I could see when she was on screen :(

        • To be honest, I only checked the shots I could find in google image and a couple of episodes, so it still might not give us the entire picture.

          If I do a rewatch, I am afraid that’s the only thing I’ll notice now. Which sucks, this season is my favourite plot wise.

          Fuck, seing skinny and Glimmer in the same sentence just hurts.

        • Yeah, her body type definitely changed a bit. I remember reading something a while back about how all the characters’ bodies were updated for season 4, I think as a way to make them read a little older, iirc? She’s still chubs.

          I guess I always thought of Glimmer more as chubby and sort of solid/strong-looking rather than fat? Splitting hairs, maybe. But I do like Spinnerella for full-fat cuteness. :-)

  6. Power lesbian(she really knows & has met a lot of powerful folks) Kara Swisher over at Recode/Vox released her interview with the L Words Leisha, Kate, Jennifer, & Ilene. It’s fairly good, minus a blunder or two(still sounds like trans women don’t exist to them as they only owned up to their mistake of Max & not Lisa).

    • Ii love the LGBT relationship between Waverly AKA Dominique and Nicole AKA Kat they’re on and off-screen friendship and chemistry is so perfect and they show that they truly loved each other they make the best lgbtq couple ever
