+ It’s fun to be friends with a partner’s partner! Strengthen your (and everyone’s) relationship with your metamour by practicing compersion, collaborating, respecting boundaries and more.

+ Dildo, Newfoundland, is a place. (I miss Canada.)

+ Bushwick: congratulations, you can now buy feminist books and sex toys at the laundromat.

+ You can get sex tips from the New York Public Library, including to always ask politely before giving a rim job, to draw positions to remember them for later, to advertise your orgy in Orgy Magazine and more.

+ “Alcohol and sex. Sex and alcohol. Where do we even start?

+ OrgasMe! is a card game that’s also about sex where if you orgasm, you lose. (There was probably a better way to refer to an in-game sex move besides “attack” tbh.)

+ Can we blame (credit?) kink on the internet?:

“”It’s not that nobody was [kinky],” Kennedy said. “It’s that we didn’t know anybody was doing it, because everyone was doing it in their bedrooms and not talking about it.”

All of this talking about it gives the impression that we, as a society, have gotten kinkier. In fact, we’ve just gotten more comfortable talking about it — and anytime people are talking about sex, they’re going to be having better, most satisfying sex.”

+ Maybe don’t panic about online porn:

“The psychotherapist Marty Klein likens the current moral panic around online porn to the epidemics of fear and suspicion that sprung up around satanic cults in the 1980s, and even around comic books in the 1950s. Pornography, he argues, is simply a catalogue of human sexual fantasies, and for most people, those fantasies have very little predictive value when it comes to real desire. The most crucial thing people can do when it comes to protecting their children, according to Klein, is to inform them that porn is fictional, and as distinct from real sexual encounters as Steph Curry’s three-pointers are from a pickup basketball game.”

+ Kegels aren’t as good for you as everyone thinks they are:

“The kegel is just such a huge part of our inherited culture information,” Bowman said, “[that] no one bothered to fully examine it.” She explained that tightness is not a valuable quality in a muscle; tight muscles either function poorly or barely function at all. What is desirable in terms of muscular health is tone, meaning strength and flexibility. As counterintuitive as it sounds, a tight muscle is often a weak muscle, not an overly strong one.” […]
“The pelvic floor is not supposed to be a muscle you ‘train.'” She then suggested that Kegels are best at helping people establish a mind-body connection between that part of their body, and need not be utilized beyond that. Basically, it’s like physical therapy—it serves a very specific purpose and isn’t intended be taken on as a lifestyle habit for the general populace.

  1. I love the links but I was worried that I accidently posted it on my facebook but I didn’t LOL

  2. I have to comment on the mentioning of Dildo, Newfoundland because that’s where my mom is from! It’s a beautiful little town with a little souvenir shop that sells plenty of t-shirts and knick-knacks that say Dildo on them. It’s definitely a missed opportunity that they don’t actually sell dildos, because who wouldn’t want a dildo that says Dildo?
